My paintings are the product of an ever changing, expanding, extracting and layering of various different painting techniques. I stop altering a painting as soon as it doesn’t have any more logic and has become unseizable and truly completely abstract.
Just as variable and diverse as my approaches to painting are the ways that I present the final results and their appearance. Fiery explosions of color are often contrasted by a canvas adorned with melancholic gray veils standing just opposite each other. I try to be true to the individual facet and characteristic of each individual image that establishes itself in the very beginning phases of the paintings creation and let it manifest itself up until the very last brush stroke.
I am not really trying to convey a message or to tell a story with my paintings as much as I am trying to create a feeling for the observer. A feeling of security, being surrounded by tranquility, for example like the feeling I experience whilst taking a stroll through Berlin’s Grunewald Forest. Or maybe even a hint of freedom and liveliness while looking at “Danish South Sea”.
I like to think that my paintings capture all of these impressions and experiences in an abstract form for eternity.
